Rock 4 kids is held every year by our friend Wes Lee Neidig of Locals Only Radio.
This show is one of the biggest shows of the year, raising money for The Children’s National Hospital in Washington, DC.
This year we were finally able to get involved…as the past years we have been working through struggles of our own with Corey’s injury.
Our involvement started with presenting the teen band Danger with their very first press shoot!
You can read more about the shoot at our blog
We also took part in the hospital tour.
There were a handful of us who decided to take part in the Hospital Tour this year. All for different reasons…but yet in the end we were connected there as one to share a memory we will never forget.
Even though the tour had it’s sad moments, you can see from the photos we also tried to make sure we found reasons to smile…which also gave others reasons to smile back at our silliness. Sometimes smiles are worth so much more than any amount of money. Throughout our relationships with friends and connections in the music scene we always find ways to connect as one. The music is the base of our connections, but the love friendships and family are what hold us together as one…giving much strength to not only take care of one another, but also much strength to take care of others outside our amazing connection.
On this tour we were able to get a feeling of what the poor children and their families go through…the struggles, the heartache and also the smiles on their faces by the many toys provided by benefits like Rock4Kids.
Please watch the VIDEO to get a feel for this:
Then of course the big rock show!
So much work goes into this show from Wes, The State Theatre, The Bands, The Photographers, and many more.
Behind the scenes work that many times go without seeing. Packaging cds one by one, donations from all around, booking bands, making flyers, taking photos, etc. etc.
Of course our shows are not just work, we love the people we are involved with so much…some are like family to us. Throughout the work we put into these shows of love we always always always make sure to take a moment and smile for the camera. It’s so much fun laughing and playing with these people who we like to call our chosen family
Before the show we were able to present the Danger Press Photos to the parents of the band Danger.
The boys would not see the photos until they took their place on the stage.
Here you can see the why we love our job so much! James’s dad’s reaction was priceless…a moment Corey and I will cherish always. Brought tears to his eyes and ours!
Before the show we were able to present the Danger Press Photos to the parents of the band Danger.
Of course Rock4Kids would not be complete without hanging with the kids!
I ventured upstairs a bit to hang with the crazy kids. Once again I had a blast with them.
While others were enjoying the rockers downstairs, I was upstairs hanging with my future rock stars!
Thanks for being such cool kids guys! Will never forget you and looking forward to seeing your future grow.
My venture with the kids was complete when I hit the stage to present their first look at their new Rock Star Shot!
[
Of course the biggest part of Rock4Kids are the bands who rock out for all to enjoy!
“Special thanks have to go out to bob…Diemanic…Almost Kings from Atlanta and the kids of Danger for putting on one of the best shows Locals Only has ever been apart of.”
A NIGHT WE WILL NEVER FORGET

Danger Shoot

Rock4Kids is a benefit raising money and toys for the children at the Children’s Hospital In DC.
We asked Wes what we could do to get involved with this years show…his reply was:
“Contact the Teen Band Danger and see if they would like a Photo Shoot!”
Indeed that is exactly what I did.
Danger consists of six band members..one Matthew, who was severly injured two years ago after being hit by a car on his skate board. Matthew’s injury dibalitated him from every day tasks as well as playing his beloved guitar.
Many of you know what Corey went through two years ago as well.
Having to learn many of the same things as Matthew…simple things like learning to walk we a huge struggle for both Matthew and Corey.
Because of going through many of the same things..we felt in our heart to give back to these amazing kids who are also known as the band Danger
We had the shoot take place inside a school, felt it was the perfect place for this school-age band to have their very first Press Shoot!
The kids were awesome to work with.
We normally work with adult bands, so this was such a fun time for us to get to know these little personalities. As with all bands, there is the serious one, the funny one, the shy one, the self assured one, the willing to please one, and the goofy one. I truly can not say how much fun we had working with the boys and their parents!
The day was alot of work and took more focusing on our part to keep their attention and make sure they did not move from the dedicated light we had positioned on them…but it was so worth it.
We will remember this day always and can’t wait to watch the boys grow and venture along their music journey.
Our goal was to give the boys a Rocker look, without taking them too much out of their comfort zone.
We feel we totally pulled it off. The boys were happy, the parents were happy, and we were happy!
Our plan was to present the boys with the first view of their photos on stage at Rock4Kids, since they were also playing the show this year!
Please go to my blog of : Rock4Kids to see this presentation
……But before you leave……

We decided today
December 2, 2008 would be the perfect day to relaunch our brand new redesigned website!
Snapp-Shot Photography
Two years ago on this very date we did our shoot with a very special band and friends Everyone But Pete.
December 2,2006
They were so amazing to work with that day, treated us with dinner, and paid us more than our asking price.
We were blown away that day by their gratitude and have been since.
For the past two years this band has promoted us as photographers in every way possible.
Sending people our way, giving us shout outs on stage, and introducing us as their personal professional photographers.
We were introduced to Everyone But Pete by their amazing manager Amber Therese Foster.
Anyone who knows us, understands how much she means to us.
She is such a strong, caring, understanding person.
She’s a hard worker and represents her band’s well and she is a faithful true friend to us all who are blessed to call her friend.
Since that day of December 2, 2006 we have also become very close friends with all of the guys of Everyone But Pete.
They truly feel like family to us and mean the world to us.
They have been there for us through ups and downs, good times and bad, rocked our benefit show when Corey was injured, and truly can not say enough good things about these amazing guys!
We have since done another shoot with them. Said good bye to Cal Stamp and welcomed in Andrew VanHorn.
Both are great guys, and amazing guitarists.
So I end this blog by saying thank you to Amber, Jim, Brian, Chris “Lane”, Cal, and Andrew for going above and beyond for us from day one.
This blog and the newly revamped Snapp-Shot Photography website is dedicated to you my friends!
Our Love Always,
Erin and Corey
