So we finally made the plunge and bought two new iphone 4 phones!
We absolutely love them.
The camera, the HD Video, the phone, the speed of this phone, etc. etc.

We thought it would be fun to create a video 100% totally from the iphone 4.
Here you can see start to finish a day in the life of the Snapps at work.

“Brick by Brick”

“Brick by brick we can build it from the floor
If we hold on to each other we’ll be better than before
And brick by brick we’ll get back to yesterday
When i made your body shiver and when you took my breath away
You took my breath away”

Many of you have been asking why we’ve been out of the loop a bit? If we are ok? What we’ve been up to? Many of you also know how much we have loved our little home we have lived in for over 12 years….but you see it’s time to move on. We’ve been through quite a bit over these past three years from Corey’s accident, his surgeries, ups and downs and more ups and downs.

Well, now is the time to move on and grow as a couple, as people, and yes as a business. We will be so sad to say goodbye to the only home we have known for more than 12 years now, but we have to grow….so the news that has been keeping us busy is….

We have been building a home. We will now have a viewing room for our clients to come see their photos and we couldn’t be more excited! We will be moving into a side of town that we absolutely love, our home will be the best of things we love with our backyard as the battlefield and our front yard next to neighbors and close to town…everything we were looking for in a location. The View is what made us say “this is our place”

Hope you enjoy following us through the building process of our future “Snapp-Home” We will update often!

The BIG DAY has FINALLY come and we could have NEVER EVER done it without the help of my amazing family and my brother’s amazing friends!
Thank you to you all!!!

Blizzard of 2009

After about 17 inches of snow….the Snapp’s have been digging out from this awful snow. Many people say they love snow so much, well ladies and gentlemen, we can honestly say we HATE snow.

Me – suffering with a nasty cold, aching back… Corey – suffering with his poor ankle, and aching joints. We started battling the snow covered Snapp HouseHold from the moment it started falling….42 hours later the snow has stopped falling and we are now shoveled out

Thought we’d share a few moments with you, please forgive me with no makeup and red nose…the joys of having a nasty head cold :(

Great Outdoorsy Type a’Day

So we decided to just take a ride and escape to the great outdoors.
One of our favorite things to do, is to get in the car and just drive.
Grab a little coffee and see what we can find.
We found this old bridge alongside the road and decide it would be a great place to “snapp” a few photos!
us
Of course a little journey would not be WITHOUT picking up a ROCK for our ever growing Snapp-Sharpie Stone collection.
Many of you reading this already know about our known tradition.
For those of you who do not.
Every place we go, every important date within our lives…we pick up a rock/stone/or shell and then sharpie it!
It started years ago when Corey proposed to me, we found a rock with 2 gold bands, got home and my great grandmother had done the exact same thing years and years ago!
Ever since….we’ve been sharpie’ng rocks and shells…then it has also lead into friends, family, and clients doing the same!!
So if you are out and about…on a honeymoon, or a special trip…remember the SSS (Snapp-Sharpie-Stone)

An Evening with Andrew McMahon “of Jack’s Mannequin”

“An Evening with Andrew McMahon” at Sixth & I Historic Synagogue in Washington, DC…… and indeed it was!

Andrew McMahon for those of you who do not know is the lead singer of Jacks’ Mannequin and founder of The Dear Jack Foundation

JM2

Wow…I truly don’t remember having a night of music like this since back when we saw John Mayer at The House of Blues. It will forever be one of our best musical moments ever. So intimate, so cozy, well taken care of as photographers, and just a truly truly brilliant artist.

Corey introduced me to Andrew’s music after he fell in love after one listen. Then of course reading his inspirational story of his battle with cancer, we were even that much more touched. Since Corey has also had an ordeal in his life..thank God not cancer…but still a battle of his own to learn to live and walk again.

There is not a day that goes by when we don’t listen to his cds. Needless to say when we saw he was doing a “special tour” of acoustic “evening with Andrew” nights we were beyond excited! As photographers, our first thought is to capture this amazing night within the still moments of our minds and eyes through our artistic abilities as photographers.

JM

We were provided with the needed photo passes “a HUGE thank you to Aaron” As you can see we captured the night of emotion, music, laughter, and fun throughout our eyes.

Andrew preformed songs from his bands “Something Corporate” , “Jacks Mannequin” and even a few rare songs like “Katie” written for his sister…wow…such a touching song. He also threw in a little fun throughout the night like when he took the stage holding up signs introducing himself and when he threw out fortune cookies….of course “I” caught one. To help you get a feel for the night…he threw out three cookies…and then asked if any of us had one good enough to share. I of course decided to share my fortune “You will be Successful in Business” I thought oh what an awesome fortune! Andrew instead decided to turn it into a joke..saying…you told me that was a good fortune…blah blah blah. haha..it really made for a fun intimate night. What amazed me most was, this was a sold out show…bottom level and balcony were packed full, but the moment Andrew spoke, the moment myself and the other fortune cookie readers spoke..the entire place went to SILENCE. Such respect for this brilliant person. It was such an awesome thing to be a part of. If the world could have that type of respect daily for others…we’d all be so much happier and at peace.

This night will live in our hearts, minds, souls, and vision always.  A friend/client of ours once asked…who do you dream of shooting…..Virgil, our dream has been fulfilled…as his music hits our soul so very much…so to capture this through our eyes truly was a dream.

For those of you have never listened to this brilliant artist…please take the time to listen and to read some of his music.

Just a few of the brilliant lyrics that captivate me:

SWIM:
“I swim to brighter days
Despite the absence of sun
Choking on salt water
I’m not giving in
I swim”

HAMMERS and STRINGS:
“Give me something to believe in,
A breath from the breathing
So write it down,
I don’t think that I’ll close my eyes
‘Cause lately I’m not dreaming
So what’s the point in sleeping?
It’s just that at night,
I’ve got nowhere to hide
So I write you a lullaby
A lullaby”

So between Shoots, Editing Photos, and Weddings…the Clark Family was able to get together on a Sunday evening.
It was such a special Sunday to get us ALL in one room at the same time.
My sister surprised us all by driving up from Roanoke…love her to death and never get to see her.
Sad she lives so very far away…as I know we would do so much together if she lived closer :(
Family Fun
We also had a bit of fun thrown into the visit with the newest member “Toby”
My baby brother’s new Boston Terrier Puppy who is the most adorable, friendly, fun, smartest thing you have ever seen!
He already knows how to sit and shake!!! How amazing is that?

Anyways..thought I’d just let you guys in on a little bit of Snapp/Clark Family DownTime
Now…back to work on those photos some of you are expecting right about now ;)

“PLANT kindess and gather LOVE”

“Plant kindness and gather love” When I came across this quote…I found it fit to perfection in describing my feelings right about now!
Let me recreate my morning:
Me – Working on PaperWork in our office
The Door – Knock Knock
(no this is not a knock knock joke)
The Door – Opens
(there looking me back in the face is a smiling woman with a big oh so very cheerful potted plant with a puffy ribbon tied upon it!)
Me – For me I ask?
The Woman at the Door – Are you Erin Snapp?
Me – Why yes, I am..but not sure why I would get flowers?
The Door – Shuts
Me – tear open the tiny envelope and read the card with the biggest SMILE ever on my face!
The Card – Love, P.B.C (other wise known as Virgil Cain)
Not just a CLIENT – BUT an AMAZING FRIEND!
Blog Collageresize

I decided right away to blog about this act of kindness…but honestly I don’t even think words can start to explain how kind this friend of ours is! It all started in 2005 with the gift of a simple “Twizzler” and a Special Song.
(this little Twizzler still hangs on my bulletin board and I look at it ever day)
This Twizzler gift and soul touching music turned into what is now becoming a lifelong friendship.

Twizzler w/ other PBC gifts!

Twizzler w/ other PBC gifts!

We have since gone to many shows of Virgil’s, had drinks, had loooong talks, exchanged gifts everything of cross stitched personalized goodies, to our photos for him, him thanking us above and beyond with tokens of his appreciation that always shock us…to lots and lots of Caffeine for the Snapps.
Now this…to be greeted at my front door from a far away friend in NY

So you see this quote “PLANT kindness and gather LOVE” means exactly what it says.
Planting a little kindness can arrive in the form of a plant, in the form of a hug, of a cup of coffee, of photos that come from the heart, or a simple text message on the way home from a gig.
Our friendship with Virgil has done all of the above and will continue to do so “Under The Bifocals”
Thank you for the “plant” that I now cheerfully greets the Snapp’s each morning, to the many many many things you have done for us just because you are one of the most special friends we’ve ever had.

We love you P.B.C
Love P.B.Snapppity Snapp Snapp :)

September 16, 2009 – Married for 14 very Happy Years

Today made me really think about life. So many times we are asked who would be your dream to shoot? So many times people work their entire life trying to get the dream job, the dream house, the dream cars, and the list goes on.

The thing is, in the end all we truly want is LOVE. There really is no better gift, no better dream than to be spending your life with your best friend, the one you love with alllll your heart.

As many of you know Corey and I have been through happy times and tested times during these past couple years after his accident….many times people will ask me, how did you two get through it? Simple – Love

So I leave you by saying….make sure you pause for a moment and find your true love in life.
