Well You're in Luck, we are here to help with some advice from us as Professional Photographers on Oak Island, NC!

So you are super excited right about now! You have either booked your session with us, or you are in the works of booking your session with us! Let's do this, you are ready to ROCK your Family Photos!
Well, almost ready....you just realized you have no idea
What to Wear for your Family Photos with our "What to Wear Guide" featuring some of our lovely clients.

My first word of advice is please be YOURSELF.
For instance, let's say you are a relaxed free flowing person however you see that traditional classic beach picture where everyone is wearing those perfectly pressed khaki pants and crisp white shirts.
That’s the classic beach portrait look, therefore that’s what you should go with….right?
NOPE, NOT SO MUCH.
Now if that khaki/white look is YOU, then by all means go with the classic khaki/white look. It's a classic.
However if it’s truly just NOT you, then please please please think about who you are, the style you love and just go a bit milder with that vision. Why do I recommend milder from your own style? Typically with full families not everyone has the same style and it's easier to flow with the vibe in a milder form.

the ELEGANT VIBE:

If you love the classic look of neautrals,
we love how this family combined the two colors without being too “matchy-matchy”
The tan, cream, white and pastel pink dresses, alongside khaki shorts is a very pleasing combination.
As you can see this is very pleasing to one’s eye verses the standard boring look of everyone doing white tops with khaki bottoms. We absolutely love how this family found their own personality as they flowed together.

the ROMANTIC RUST VIBE :

This vibe is so romantic. It's a combination of Rust, Teal, and White. Creating an earthy yet romantic feel by bringing in lace, ruffles, and just an all around elegant look and feel. These colors work perfectly together, yet are often overlooked.

the CAROLINA BLUES VIBE:

Calming Coastal Carolina Blues have forever been a popular favorite clothing vibe for family photos.
I love how this family brought in chambray blues, paired up with the simplicity of timeless khaki shorts.
This beautiful look was accomplished by combining a mixture of blues with a pop of khaki.

the PASTELS VIBE:

Oh the sweet softness of pastels. There is just something about this vibe that makes my heart wanna say awwww. It's so sweet, so happy, so just simply soft. I love how they combined the soft pinks, baby blues, and whites. As you can see they even matched the two little girls with sweet matching prints and boys with matching shirts, yet the entire family refrained from being too matchy-matchy simply because they all brought in their own color vibes.

the POP OF PERSONALITY VIBE:

How about a POP of Personality!
What more can I say other than cheerful, full of happy and fun!
I enjoyed the fun vibes this family decided to bring into their family photo session outfits!
They accomplished this fun vibe by bringing in a fun printed dresses, with solid colors and of course they even put a touch of personality upon their furry-family members within their bandanas! Super cute!

the PRETTY N' PINK VIBE:

Not only is Pretty in Pink one of my FAVE 80's movies of all times....it's also one of my fave vibes.
It's sweet, it's soft, it's romantic, and it pops against the sand and ocean.
You can see this sweet family of three were able to flow without being too matchy-matchy in their pink vibes.
I love how they brought in the different textures of lace throughout their dresses and went with a timeless vintage type of vibe. Even their hair styles flowed perfectly with the pretty n' pink vibe!

the BEACH VIBE:

There is just something forever classic with the beach vibe.
Tans, blues, and white is the beachy vibe! Little white dresses, combined with shades of blues and browns create the look of the beach. After all, what colors do you see when you visit the beach?
I love how they flowed, yet everyone shined with their own personality!

the RELAXED VIBE:

I like to call this the Relaxed Vibe, simply because as you can see each and every family member shined with their own light! They went with blue tones, whites and even brought in a floral print, which was perfect!
In case you haven't noticed...
I really love when families bring in one or two prints to create a relaxed, personality filled vibe.

the PRETTY AS A PRINCESS VIBE:

Oh my goodness, are they adorable or what?!?
Pretty as a princess! I love how they chose the neutral shades of cream with pastel blues and then the pop of their little princesses dressed in blue! Such a sweet vibe!

As you can see there are so many beautiful outfit choices to choose from while planning what to wear for your family photo portrait sessions. The most important thing of all is to simply ENJOY your family photos! From start to finish, we want your experience with us to be fun, and moments you'll never forget! Try not to let stress get the best of you while searching for the perfect outfits.

• AVOID WEARING LOGOS IF AT ALL POSSIBLE
• AVOID LARGE RUFFLES THAT BLOW INTO ONE'S FACE
• SECURE HAIR WITH CLIPS, HEADBANDS, BOWS OR BOBBY-PINS
• PLEASE AVOID SUNBURNS
• PLEASE AVOID LOTION, THE SAND WILL STICK TO YOU LIKE GLUE
